About the Founder

Riptide Recruiting was founded with a clear purpose: to bring intention, integrity, and humanity back into the recruiting process.

My career in talent began while I was in college and playing hockey at the University of Utah. Go Utes! During this time, I was working for an HR consulting firm where I was first introduced to the impact thoughtful hiring can have on organizations and individuals alike. At the time, I was still searching for my own professional direction. It was a pivotal conversation with my stepfather who recognized my natural ability to connect with people and that led me to explore recruiting as a career.

That decision proved to be life changing.

I began my recruiting career as a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Ken Garff Automotive, where I quickly discovered that recruiting was more than filling roles. It was about building relationships, influencing outcomes, and helping people find opportunities where they could truly thrive. Driven to expand my experience beyond a national scope, I later joined Rio Tinto as a recruiter, gaining exposure to global talent strategies and complex, large-scale hiring environments.

It was during my time at Rio Tinto that the vision for Riptide Recruiting truly took shape.

Across industries, I saw recruiting becoming increasingly transactional. Candidates were reduced to resumes, hiring leaders were treated as tasks, and speed often took priority over quality. As a result, retention suffered, trust eroded, and meaningful connections were lost. I also saw a significant lack of intentional focus on diverse talent, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and groups whose potential is often overlooked despite the value they bring.

Riptide Recruiting was created to challenge that model.

This is a people-first recruiting firm built on partnership, quality, and long-term success. I collaborate closely with clients to understand not only the technical requirements of a role, but the culture, leadership style, and future vision of the organization. Equally important, I advocate for candidates with transparency and respect, knowing firsthand how impactful the right opportunity can be at the right moment.
